Que?

Our administrative assistant asked me about something we had apparently discussed a little while ago. I drew a total blank; had no clue whatsoever what in the whole hell she was talking about. And she's like:

You don't remember....?
And I'm like:
No......well, nooooo..? Actually, no.

And then, finally, she admitted we talked about it back in December. December!?! Are you serious? That was last year. I don't remember anything from the fall. Christmas break was literally like one of those Men in Black devises to my memory.
Blank.
Start over please.

Older and colder - good day on the mountain

Saturday night as we were sitting in the hot tub at Grand Targhee, I asked Dylan what I was getting for my birthday. If I was getting anything besides the goggles I found and got for myself. He looked up at the Wyoming sky and said
- Snow... you're getting snow. Powder!
Then he reminded me that I got a $200 shell jacket for x-mas while he got a $13 sweater from Target. I agreed that was a valid point. And I got a lot powder.
Yesterday was so, so fun.
Good birthday.

Good point

Dylan, a couple of hours ago, as I'm mixing the content from the small aluminum tube with the liquid in the larger, plastic bottle:
-You're dying your hair..?? Like right now? The night before a ski-trip....jeez, why dontcha get a mani-pedi while you're at it....
Which was a good idea, so I did.
What, I can't have pretty nails in my boots once in a while? It is my birthday weekend, after all.
Also, my goggles made it.

Should have placed the order sooner...

All I want right now is that the new birthday goggles I ordered off of amazon last night make it here in time for our trip to Targhee this weekend.
And world peace.
That's all.
Thanks.

I'm doing it again

After the last 13 minutes (on the clock, which means about a half hour of real time) of the Atlanta - San Fran game, I decided against going to Sean's to watch the second game.
Food and a fire place sounded nice, sure... but not 3 hours of football.
And I had forotten to bring a book.
But now, what I am watching....? Well, I'm not exactly watching it. But it's on. The seccond game. I find it a nice background noise, and also, kind if hoping I'll some how learn to appreciate this (brainless) sport if I'm just exposed to it enough.

Fine

nevermind. but still

The Review

Magic Mike was pretty much what I expected. A flesh fest without depth.
Lots of good bodies. Lots of ass cheeks…. Which I personally could have done without, I don’t care how toned those butts are, a man in a thong is just wrong.
If you ask me.
But hey, I was in it for the eye candy and on that it delivered.
Also, there were more men in the audience than I had expected. I wonder if they had expected something else… A movie about a magician perhaps?
Many of them looked slightly awkward as the lights came on after the show.

Eye Candy

Off to watch Magic Mike. Am I expecting a dramatic masterpiece with outstanding cinematagraphy and a brilliant story line?
Nooo....
Do I think the dialogue will be catching, the writers working hard at catching the audience's sense for a beautiful script.
Not at all.
But hey, some nights a six-pack is exactly what you're in the mood for.

I know how to solve this!

Coworker: I see a pattern here, Mondays are not good for you. You're always super stressed and freaked out on Mondays....

Good point. I do feel a lot better today. Maybe I should just not work Mondays?

Just tell me what to do...

You know when you hear stories about people who are getting fired or in trouble for posting negative or inappropriate stuff about their work/boss/students online... and if you're anything like me, you think "jeez moron....how stupid can you be?"
So, that being said, let me just rant a little....
After an unexpected, but by all means welcome, three day weekend it's kind of hard to get back on track for me today. The problem, when boiled down and reduced to its core, is this: I'm lacking guidance and direction. I need guidance and direction. But I don't know whether or not I am being unreasonable asking for it.
I don't think I'm a lazy person. In fact, I'd almost like to think I'm anything but. I just don't know how to tackle this right now.
Help?

Sunny Sunday

Seattle Seahawks are getting their feathery bottoms served up on a silver plate. Dylan’s team is loosing and he is pissed. What a fabulous Sunday. Game’s not over yet, though. I guess they can still come back and save our weekend.
But either way, we had a three day weekend, I'm not complaining. I'd take a snow day any day. But Fridays seem particularly good days to close down campus. Please do it again. Friday was also a powder day at Pebble. Best in 5 years, said the locals. Best I've seen at Pebble, said I.
Also, I can’t wait for the Golden Globes tonight. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, need I say more? Although I’m not sure we’ll be able to watch it, if we have the right channel. I’d check right now but I’m not allowed anywhere near the remote control. Even during commercials.
I don't know what's unhealthier, the bacon breakfast or the fanatic football viewing.

Soaky toes

The sun was shining through my window, creating sun cats on my screen and making it plain silly to stay inside.
So I decided to go for a walk in the sunshine.
Now my feet are wet and my nose is runny and the sun took a nap while I was out.
It looked better from the inside.
Still, a walk outside always beats a sitting session inside.

A case of the footballs...how is that best treated?

I just did something I never thought I’d do.
Not even sure I’d admit to it later on if someone were to ask.
But ok, so we were supposed to go out to Pebble and then watch the Seahawks game at Sean’s dad’s house in Inkom. Then plans changed and got delayed and what not and last minute I decided not to go and instead devote my day to project Ungrossify Our Apartment.  Had I done it last week, it would have passed for cleaning, but it was passed that point.
Anyways, I cleaned, did laundry, went to the store and pretty much got things done, which is always a nice feeling on a Sunday. But then, in order to bring this story home, what I did once I was done with all that stuff… was that I turned on the TV and watched the last 5 minutes of the game.
Alone.
Because I actually wanted to know who was winning.
Not sure what is happening here.
Perhaps I should go lie down.

#work

I hate confrontation. I am really good at speaking my mind to people who don’t care or aren’t affected by what’s on it. But anybody who might argue with me or offer some resistance to my ranting…. don’t want to deal with it.
Anyways, it seems like some change is finally about to happen here, work wise. Not holding my breath or anything, but it's looking brighter.

Back at work

We're back. I think I may be the only one on my floor who showed up to work today. Does wonders for the motivation.
It's cold in Pokey. I thought everyone was being all American and wussy about it until I actually converted it into Celsius ... and realized that fine, it's pretty cold. Not super cold. But definitely somewhat chilly.
What bothered me more though, was the lack of hot water for my morning shower. I suffered through it. Now I wonder why since nobody will see me today. I could have come in wearing sweats and slippers. Maybe tomorrow.
